Support Services Objectives

Support Services helps ensure operational efficiency, reduce overhead expenses, and increase customer satisfaction with our insureds. Support Services consists of Administrative Support and Finance teams. The Administrative Support Team oversees the statement of values, invoicing, and general customer support. The Finance team manages the premium rates, division budgets, payables & receivables, and rebate programs.

Statement of Values

The Statement of Values is a declaration of assets your agency wants the Risk Fund to insure. This report lists assets and values letting Risk Management know how much a property is worth. This information is then given to an actuary to calculate premium amounts.

Requesting a Certificate of Insurance

A Certificate of Insurance is a document issued by an insurance company or broker, in this case the Division of Risk Management verifying that an entity is insured. Entities should verify that their vendors and contractors have the necessary coverage to meet any legal and regulatory requirements. It is also used to mitigate risk for your agency to avoid extraneous expenses like litigation stemming from claims.

To request a certificate of insurance through the Division of Risk management you need to be a School District, Charter School, Higher Education Institution or State Agency insured by the State of Utah.

If the certificate requester is also a covered entity by the Division of Risk Management you do not need a Certificate of Insurance.

How can I get an auto insurance card?

Insurance cards are no longer issued to covered entities. Under Utah law, persons operating government-owned or leased vehicles, with permission, do not need proof of insurance. Sprinkler Rebate Program

The Sprinkler Rebate Program enables rebates of up to 10% of annual premiums paid for fully sprinklered buildings. Insureds must submit four quarterly sprinkler test reports each year to qualify. A 5% rebate will apply for three submitted tests and no rebate given if less than three tests are submitted.

An annual email will be sent with a Google spreadsheet link where entities must enter dates of the flow tests. Supporting documentation is required and should be submitted to [email protected]. The test reports must include Risk Management’s building number, building name, and test date. Reports must be submitted no later than July 15th for the previous fiscal year.
