Happy kids running to school

The Utah Schools Critical Incident Commission was established in 2017 after several Utah public school districts united to collaborate on the adoption of Standard Response Protocol. Standard Response Protocol provides a consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff and first responders, which can be applied in any emergency. Through this partnership, the UTSCIC has begun to develop tools and materials for all LEAs to use to prevent, protect, mitigate, respond to and recover from emergencies.

Mission: The UTSCIC is committed to school and community safety and will continue to advocate for collaboration across the public school districts of Utah and beyond. We believe school staff, students, parents and community deserve a consistent approach to school safety and will continue to be proactive in our efforts.

School safety is a concern across the United States. Law enforcement, school administrators and teachers, and the community need resources and proactive strategies for ensuring that school environments remain safe and secure.
